CEO Damian Aebischer becomes a Packimpex shareholder, highlighting his long-term commitment to the company after more than a decade in senior leadership.
History

Demonstrating our firm commitment to our European expansion strategy, 2021 was a year of bold moves. In February we proudly publicised the integration of the Belgium relocation company Bright Expats SRL into the Packimpex Group. In April we opened Packimpex Netherlands BV with offices in Amsterdam, and in July we announced the opening of Packimpex UK Ltd. with offices in London.

With the acquisition of the destination and immigration service activities of Gosselin Mobility NV in Belgium, Packimpex continues growing beyond Swiss borders. The strategic move strengthens relocation service offerings for existing and new customers in Belgium. These services include home-search, settling-in, immigration and departure assistance.

In January 2020, Packimpex's European expansion began with the renaming of UTS Relocation GmbH, where Packimpex had already purchased the controlling interest in 2019, to Packimpex Deutschland GmbH.
This partnership with the former UTS Relocation, the destination and immigration service specialist based in Frankfurt, strengthened the destination services and visa and immigration support for existing and new customers in Germany. This milestone marked an important step in Packimpex’s plan to expand its business across European borders.
Under the name Packimpex, we offer companies in Germany and beyond the same world-class customer service, trusted quality and excellence that our customers know and expect from the Packimpex brand.

In 2019, Packimpex underscored its European expansion by purchasing the controlling interest in UTS Relocation GmbH, the destination and immigration service specialist based in Frankfurt. The partnership between Packimpex and UTS Relocation strengthens the destination services and visa and immigration support for existing and new customers in Germany. This milestone marked an important step in Packimpex’s plan to expand its business across European borders.

In July 2017, Packimpex’s moving and storage division merged with Gosselin Mobility, a company that handles international moving and relocation services throughout Europe, eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. By partnering with Gosselin, Packimpex ensured that its moving business is a strong Pan-European organisation that continues to respond to the increasing customer demands in technology, legal and compliance while maintaining its competitiveness.

2011 was a big year for Packimpex. The company became completely carbon neutral; acquired Altpeter, a logistics company in Freiburg, Germany; and launched the Packimpex Switzerland Hub.

After 30 years of active leadership, Ernst Jörg handed over ownership and management of the Relocations-Solutions Group to his son Marcel Jörg on 1 January 2008. The group continued to expand in a way that demanded a radical change in its market image. In 2009, the decision to re-brand the company and to change its corporate identity was taken.

Temp-Solutions Ltd. was founded to encompass all the temporary solutions offered, such as rental furniture, temporary accommodation and corporate apartment management.

In 2003, the family business evolved to the Relocation Solutions Group as the offering was expanded to provide destination services under the umbrella of Network Relocation Ltd. in Basel. Through that sister company, it opened offices throughout Switzerland and became the market leader in the provision of destination services.

The Packimpex headquarters was established in Thörishaus near Berne in 1989. Packimpex HQ is still located here today. The facilities include a storage capacity of 3,000 m2 and an office space of 2,000 m2.

Ernst Jörg, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors, founded Packimpex in Berne in 1977. Since that time, the company has experienced considerable growth.
